Colorful Praying Mantis and Insects Pictures

Biochemist and photographer Igor Siwanowicz has spent the last seven years carefully acquiring, breeding and capturing bizarre and visually stunning images of his alien subjects.

Taken in a home studio in Munich, Germany, Mr Siwanowicz studies the habits and physiology of these compelling creatures, which gives him the edge when it comes to producing thought-provoking imagery.

Lion vs Pangolin - Lion try to break the Pangolin Defense

When a lion gets hungry, they become desperate in looking and eating any animals they will meet.

But this lion certainly bit off more than it could chew when it pounced on a pangolin.

British wildlife guide Mark Sheridan-Johnson captured on film this inquisitive big cat which spent a long time trying to devour the odd looking creature in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania.

The rare, armour plated pangolin had the perfect defence tactic, roll up into a ball and stay there, whatever happens.

Lion tried to use her claws to get the pangolin shell off.

The Invisible Man is back!
 

Chinese artist Liu Bolin has become world renowned for his camouflage art. Liu uses a team of two assistants to paint the camouflage onto him to make him invisible, and each photograph can take up to ten hours to set up. In some cases, Liu has his assistants paint his body and then he remains extremely still until an unsuspecting passer-by happens to walk past.

He has toured his work across the globe for the past five years, and is looking forward to a new exhibition at the Eli Klein Fine Art Gallery in New York in 2011
